Our Weekend Plans

OUR WEEKEND- FUTURE TENSE PRACTICE

Luz will go to the store to buy some food tonight. Saturday, she will go to visit her sister, Mary. On Sunday, she will go to church. Manuel is going to go to the market. He is going to wash his car. He is going to visit his friend. Silvia will go to the laundromat. She is going to be in her apartment cleaning. She is going to go to Old Sacramento to walk. Carmen will stay home with her family. She will make food for her entire family. Maybe she will go to Sacramento to go shopping. She will go to church on Sunday. Lupita will go to practice driving with her father. She will go to the store on Saturday with her friend. She will call her friends in other countries. She will practice her English in her house. Lourdes is going to study her new words. She is going to go to the park to walk. She is going to cook. She is going to read. Eduardo is going to the store to buy food for his dogs. He is going to go to Dunnigan on Saturday to do yardwork. Monday, he will go to get an oil change on his truck. Friday, Dora will cook food for dinner. Dora will clean her home. Afterwards, she will study English, play “Sudoko”, and rest. Saturday and Sunday she is going to go to Santa Rosa and the Pacific Ocean. There she will take pictures. Ester will go to the park on Saturday with her sons and husband. She will run around the park 4 or 5 times and then she will ride a bike when her legs start to hurt. She will cook flan for her son. She will go to the Laundromat. She is going to the gas station. She is going to cook. At 4:00 she is going to go to work. Sunday, she will go to church to pray for her family. She is going to go to the Chinese food restaurant. She will go to Foods for Less. She is going to go to work at 4:00, the same as Saturday.

CLASS PROCEDURES AND RULES

Happy New Year! I am excited to see all of my returning students and meet all my new students!

Beginning High ESL

1. ATTENDANCE
Please sign in when you arrive and when you leave. It is important to attend every day . Please call the office if you are going to be absent for more than three days. If you are absent for more than a week without contacting the teacher you will be dropped from the class

2. PARTICIPATION
It is important to participate in class. Be willing to talk, read and write English. This is why all students are here. Please check the “extras” folder for any papers that you missed when you were absent. Also, please get the name and phone number of two classmates that you can call or get notes from if you are absent.

3. SUPPLIES
Bring paper, a notebook , a pen/pencil to class everyday. You also need to bring your dictionary. Dictionaries can be purchased in the main office or at any bookstore.

4. COMPUTER LAB
We will go to the computer lab a week. No food, drink or gum in the lab. Do not use the computer for personal use during class time- NO music, chat, my space. If the computer use contract that you signed during registration is broken, you will not be allowed to use the computer lab. Please make the best use of this time, there are wonderful programs and websites in the lab.

5. COMMON COURTESY
• Keep cell phones silent. Take phone calls outside.
• Sharpen pencils before or after class, not while the teacher is talking.
• Respect others opinions, religions and cultures. Be positive.
• Don’t talk when others are talking.
